The ProTone wire locator includes a tone generator that can connect to network, phone and other cables, and a tracer that detects and identifies both the generated signals and 60Hz AC waveforms as well. Use them together to identify specific wires in bundles or cable runs, or to determine whether a power line is hot or not without contacting it. Thanks to attached alligator clips, the tone generator can be used for all wire types, but it has plugs for specifically testing telephone and network lines too. Includes case and 9V battery. The 231A can easily read the correct pin configuration of 10BaseT cable (category 5), 100BaseTx, 10Base2 cable (coax) and RJ45/RJ11 modular cables, 356A, TIA 568A, TIA 568B and Token Ring cables by comparing one transmitting end to the corresponding receiving end. With the remote kit, it can test cables installed far away either on wall plate or patch panel up to 1000ft away. It is easy to verify the cable continuity, open, short, and cross connect, featuring auto or manual scan for pin-out indicators.

The Triplett RWV10G Real World LAN and Cable Verifier is break-through technology that brings cable and network verification and testing to a whole new level of reality. Unlike traditional testers, the RWV10G uses digital circuitry and digital testing techniques to perform its tasks. It works with UTP and all Ethernet devices. These tests include traditional TIA568 cable verification (length, opens, shorts, split pairs, wire map) for UTP (unshielded twisted pair). Plus RWV10G's own sophisticated crosstalk, timing and cable parameter tests that yield a UTP cable's category (CAT3, CAT5, CAT5E, CAT6, CAT7) and speed capability (10M, 100M, 1G, 10G). In addition, the RWV10G can use your own network devices (hubs, switches, PCs) to test UTP cables with live data and, the RWV10G analyzes links and data from all types of hubs, switches and PCs. It performs both single sided tests for advertised speed (10M, 100M, 1G, 10G and duplex) and inline tests (between devices) for negotiated speed. The engine of the RWV10G circuitry is capable of 1 nanosecond resolution. It also works with coax cable and can test for the length of the cable, opens, shorts, wiremap and distance to any faults that might exist. As with UTP, coax can be toned with the toner feature and test results can be stored for later printing in the RWV10G's memory.
