Hutch is...

Hutch & Son was founded in the 40's by J. W. Hutchinson, who always went by the nickname "Hutch". Hutch had a son named Charles, thus the name "Hutch and Son" during the 'golden' years of electronic distribution. Hutch & Son had about 10 branches in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, & Michigan selling radio and T.V. parts. "Hutch & Son, Inc." in Evansville was founded in 1953 by Hutch and E. R. Taylor (my Grandfather). Hutch & Son, Inc. changed to Industrial /MRO distribution in the early 80's and is the sole remaining Hutch & Son, Inc.

Edge marketing and procurement is a buying group of 114 independent industrial electronic distributor locations and 38 electronic manufacturers. As a local member of Edge, we combine our purchasing power with the entire Edge membership across the US and Canada. Pooling our resources, we form partnerships with a select group of suppliers to obtain the best possible pricing.

With our group purchasing power exceeding $260 million annually, Edge has established itself as the most innovative purchasing and marketing organization in the electronics industry. As your local Edge member, we have the strength of an international organization to couple with our flexibility and responsiveness of being your local stocking distributor.

With this national networking system of distributors, we have access to a database that contains all of the Edge membership's inventory. With this extensive system, we can quickly source product with a few simple keystrokes. The Edge on-line system contains over 600,000 items (over $60 million in inventory) and is a quick reliable source when an item is not in local stock and factory lead times are excessive. This is the only database of its kind, and is only available to Edge members. Thereby only customers of Edge members will have the advantage of access to this system.
